With all the new spots opening up around town, our roster of beloved places seems to be growing by the day. It’s great to have a collection of go-to destinations no matter the occasion or need–whether that be creative or social. These places don’t necessarily need to be new, they can be holes-in-the-wall or downright vibes. Whether it’s delicious new eateries or great venues for outdoor live music, here are our team’s favorite obsessions around town:

Isabella’s Picks

Mr. Mandolin – The Vagabond Hotel has to be one of the dreamiest spots in the MiMo District. With its retro aesthetic and nostalgic vibes, it’s hard not to love anything that comes out of that place. From the team behind one of the city’s most consistently good eateries, Mr. Mandolin delivers on that trademark high-level quality of service with a more laid-back, bistro approach perfect for lunch meetings and happy hour hangs.

OCISLY Ceramics – Getting those creative juices flowing is an essential part of our self-care routine and Of Course I Still Love You is one of our favorite places to flex that muscle of self expression. On one end their handmade ceramics are adorably inspired by the cosmos, and on the other, their studio is a great option for taking that ceramics class you’ve been dying to sign up for.

Rosie’s at Copper Door – What started as a pop-up in response to COVID-19 hotel closures is quickly making its mark on Miami’s culinary scene. Rosie’s at The Copper Door B&B has expanded their new brunch menu to offer various options of comfort fare. Rosie’s offers a feel-good breakfast along with a small yet worthy lunch selection that combines Italian ingredients and techniques with Southern-American roots and inspiration.

Tripping Animals – Highly inspired by their Venezuelan roots, the millennial founders of Tripping Animals in this case associate the term ‘tripping’ with having fun. Mysterious upon entry, find yourself in a fusion of industrial mid-century vibes: bright-colored velvet sofas, vintage rugs, dim lighting and a stretched bar to go along with an extensive menu of trippy flavors.

Namaste Indian Cuisine – As self-proclaimed Indian food connoisseurs, we thought we had tried the best of what Miami had to offer, but then we discovered this hidden gem and were instantly floored. Namaste is a Coral Gables hole-in-the-wall where ever dish is made entirely with love at the family-run establishment. It’s sweet and approachable and offers plates we’d never seen before on an Indian menu around town. It’s an absolute must-try.

Uber Eats

Oak Garden – Our editor is a serious live music addict, so when Smart Bites unveiled their backyard jam space last year, she couldn’t get enough–and still hasn’t. Oak Garden is a luscious, tree-filled oasis where some of the world’s best musicians come together to jam out in an intimate location. Nightly live music by Miami’s own musicians are on a constant rotation, peppered in with touring acts that are beloved the world over. Pair that with well-priced drinks and organic food, and we’ve got ourselves a regular.
