Is it just us or does time feel like it’s going really fast AND incredibly slow at the same time? We’re having FOMO and also not worrying about missing much, which makes it surprisingly easy to make plans. Top that with plenty of new venues expanding their outdoor dining spaces and making room for slowly re-introducing live music, and you have yourself a packed calendar once again. Our Editor’s top things to do all involve jams–of the musical and handmade fruit spread varieties.

Afrobeta at The Doral Yard

It’s been a while since we fully let loose, and few local acts inspire us to do as much as Afrobeta does. This Friday, January 29th, Afrobeta takes their avant-dance sound to The Doral Yard for a night of dancing and letting everything go. Start your evening with a delicious meal from your choice of savory and sweet culinary vendors at The Doral Yard along with wine, beer or cocktails from The Bar at The Yard. MORE INFO

Visit Some Farmer’s Markets

Supporting our local farmers and artisanal vendors is a big deal to us, so making the effort to work visiting a market on the weekends should be top of the list for 2021 resolutions. The Legion Park Farmers Market is one of our favorites not only because its small but mighty selection of vendors is really all you need, but the park itself is perfect for a post-shop picnic. The Vizcaya Village Farmers Market is also set in a breathtaking location, and the larger-than-life Coconut Grove Organic Market is just a hop away. If you want to feel ultra safe or prefer doing your shopping on a Sunday, drive by the Pinecrest Gardens Farmers Market and peruse the vendors from the comfort of your vehicle.
