We’ve talking heavily about how to support local businesses during a period where they need it the most, but mostly relegated to our immediate favorites in the 305. Wanting to expand that coverage, we reached out to Carley Sumner, the kind heart behind the popular Fort Lauderdale monthly market, Flamingo Flea to give us a list of her most beloved 954 staples. Wanting to get out of Dade for a bit? Here’s where to go in Broward:

The O.G. Names

This piece focuses heavily on newer, and lesser-known names in Fort Lauderdale, but we’d be remiss not to spotlight strongholds like Wells Coffee, Montce Swim, Phat Boy Shushi, The Wander Shop, and Batch Cookie Co.

@hey_hotstuff_ – She usually makes amazing knit koozies and water bottle holders. But during this time she has blown away any competition with her new face masks. She has a special line of Fort Lauderdale inspired koozies, all profits from that line, she is donating to United Way.
