In case you haven’t heard, we’re bringing Miami the very first open to the public street food festival: The Last Bite! Since our events are always and forever free, we’re exciting to let the community (both local and those traveling in town for The Big Game) taste some of Miami’s yummiest culinary creations on Saturday, February 1st at the breathtaking Regatta Park in Coconut Grove. Like the popular food fairs around the world, we want The Last Bite to be something for everyone to enjoy for years to come so let’s make the first one the best one! Whether you’re there for the food, live music of artisan vendors, here are some tips on how to make the most of it:
While we know cars are everyone’s made mode of transportation, remember that there will be ample temptation in the drink department so ride sharing is encouraged however parking is available on-site. For all the two-wheel drivers out there, Bike Coconut Grove will be offering a complimentary bike valet so you can leave your ride in good hands while enjoying the grub. For the even more public transportation conscious, we suggest you taking the MetroRail to Coconut Grove station, walking on 27th Ave toward S Bayshore Drive and you’ll be right at the mouth of the park.
Regatta Park might be the grove’s newest green space, but it offers possibly the best unencumbered view of the bay surrounded by trees and the sleek new architecture in The Grove’s downtown area. Catch the sunset while taking in the best tastes our city has to offer. Other great views? Watching the amazing live performances we have set up for you. Starting with Bad Apples Brass Band, Miami’s premiere New Orleans funk outfit. Then, we’ve got The Savants of Soul all the way from Gainesville for your dancing pleasure. Finally, topping off the night, will be local favorites Locos Por Juana and their jammin’ Latin funk sounds.
Now to the real reason we’re doing this: the food. We’re talking over 20 of South Florida’s finest chefs representing a plethora of the city’s endless cultures. Greek by Meraki Coconut Grove, Cuban-inspired ice cream by Azucar Ice Cream Company, Mexican eats by 222 Taco, Indian street food by Chotu, wood fire pizza by Don Giuseppes, nitrogen creations by Lulu’s Ice Cream, Argentinian asado by Gaucho Ranch, vegan PEEL Soft Serve, Ma’s Flan, empanadas by Fufi Restaurant, Italian ice by Icestasy, Latin munchies by Palomilla Grill, South American finger food by Conos Miami, Crepe Paradis, Caribbean goodness by Manjay Restaurant, refreshments by Brewing Life Kombucha, Caja China, Peruvian Eats, Chifa Street food, Sliders 305, Asian eats by Palmar, and Naughty Coffee.
We’re so excited to partner with beloved local beer masters, Veza Sur Brewing Co. for a beer garden of epic proportions. They’ll be tapping all their best brews and hanging with us all day. Of course, we’ll also have all sorts of drinks at your disposal including specialty cocktails by Top Shelf Beverage. While you sip on those drinks, make sure to explore the artisan avenue packed with great finds. La Succulenta’s vintage plant creations, The Wanderlust Bazaar, Carla Merino jewelry, Trinkets for D eclectic finds, Buena Vista Candle Company, Center for Subtropical Affairs, Daddy Daughter Jewelry Get Braidified, TantieNYC vintage finds, handmade macrame by Belted by Mary, Petals flower boutique and more.
One thing we’re most excited about is the fact that this landmark occasion is taking place in Miami’s oldest and arguably most charming neighborhood. Coconut Grove has so many things to discover pre and post event so plan your whole day around being in such a nice pocket of luscious Miami. Head to The Barnacle Historic State Park, roam nearby David T Kennedy Park, catch a movie, or just walk through the quaint streets. Once you’ve had your fill of The Last Bite, head right back into The Grove for a nightcap at one of its several historical watering holes. Best of all? It’s all walkable.
