If you’re as big of a culture vulture as we are, much of your yearly calendar is taken over by vibrant happenings, screenings, and launches. Basically, if something fun and funky is taking place in Miami, you’re there. So if you’re naturally going to be spending your hard-earned cash on these things, why not invest in some perks while you’re at it. There are plenty of great institutions to become a member of, so your bill makes sense and your position as a VIP is even greater.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

One of our absolute favorite places to get lost in Miami, Fairchild Tropical Garden, is also one of the best places to take advantage of a membership. For $120 a year, you can visit the garden however many times as you want and even bring a guest for free. Considering that an entrance ticket costs $25 for adults, you’ll just need to visit almost 3 times a year with a friend to make that worth it. Oh, but it is. Take a look into The Kampong membership while you’re at it too.

Miami New Times

The Biltmore

While you might know it as one of Miami’s most photogenic hotels, The Biltmore offers more than just rooms and eats for out of towners. In fact, this is one of the best kept secrets in town: become a member here. Not only do you get tons of discounts in and around the hotel and golf course for being a member, but you get access and towels at arguably the best pool in South Florida. Plus, unlimited fitness classes, spa access, golf goodies and so much more.

The Arsht Center

It might be a given, but being a member at the biggest cultural institution in Miami is a must. Whether you like world-class musicians, dance performances, musical or straight theater, The Arsht Center has it all. You get early access to ticket purchases and tons of other perks, which is a given. From their Jazz Roots series to their Off Broadway goodness, it’s hard to top the breadth of opportunity at The Arsht.

Florida Professional Presenters Consortium

Little River Co Op CSA

If you want to give back to your health by investing in local farmers and the produce they work so hard to keep up, we suggest you look into a CSA membership. They’re usually seasonal based on the current crops, but you can sign up with a roommate or friends and share the produce that comes out of a nice harvest. Get fresh greens, fruits, and veggies delivered to your place or picked up once a month. Start by looking at what Little River Co Op has up their sleeves.

Frost Museum

It doesn’t matter if you’re a science geek or an avid nature lover, being a member at the Frost Science Museum is great for anyone who’s interested in the ways of every world. Of course, access to dope in-museum and after-hours events is a great perk but the museum itself offers incredible exhibits that range from the inner workings of the human body to DaVinci’s best inventions. It’s great for every curious soul of any age.

Nu Deco Ensemble

We’ve been saying this for years, but you don’t have to be a fan of classical music to be impressed by Nu Deco Ensemble‘s musical prowess. Apart from of course, bringing contemporary and legendary classics to life on stage, it’s their creative interpretations of musical favorites like Stevie Wonder, Daft Punk, and even Jamiroquai that bring us back show after show. A membership gets you early access to ticket sales, better seating, and much more. But you’re also supporting keeping once-in-a-lifetime collaborations alive in our city too.

Rhythm Foundation

The cultural renaissance that has taken over our city has stretched its way across its entire landscape, even touching places in its furthest depths. A great sign of its success is the Rhythm Foundation, which has managed to bring world-class musical performances and music festivals to the city–working out of their home at the North Beach Bandshell–for years. Being a member gets you access to great seats and lounges during their shows, and of course always keeping you in the know about their latest bookings in and around our city.

Time Out

Miami Film Festival

This one is easily one of our favorites on the list, mainly because of our thriving film buff obsession. As our city’s premiere cinematic resource, the Miami Film Festival‘s membership program naturally offers everything your heart would desire. Miami Film Society members enjoy exclusive sneak screenings every month from April to December – many of which include Q&A with the filmmaker and talent. They also offer complimentary tickets to the Festival in March, invitations to VIP and members-only events, and so much more.

The PAMM

Being a member at a museum doesn’t mean you have to love art, and at one so beautiful as The PAMM, you’ll understand. For $65 a year, you of course get invitations to tons of members-only events, screenings, lectures, and exhibit openings, but you also get to walk into that museum for free every time. For $90 you get all of that and you get to invite a buddy with you every time.

Art Zealous

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

Another absolute favorite membership on the list, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is a seriously great place to become a member of. Not only is it one of the most breathtaking places in our city–which gives you bragging rights on supporting–but it’s also a wonderful location to experience an event, something you get easy access to with their rich programming calendar. From wellness classes and after-hours shows, you’ll get to visit the National Historic Landmark anytime you want for as little as $50 a year.
