The Bridge of San Luis Rey – Miami New Drama opens its season at the Colony Theatre with The Bridge of San Luis Rey, a new play based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Thornton Wilder that Time Magazine calls “One of the Best novels of the 20th century.” Adapted for the stage by and starring six-time Obie Award-winner David Greenspan, The Bridge of San Luis Rey is a lyrical fable of fate and love about five travelers in colonial Peru whose lives intersect in an epic and unexpected way.

Worst Place On Earth – The weird, whacky, wanton and wicked state we call home – Florida – is front, center and an absolute goldmine for stories, characters and musical stuff in WORST PLACE ON EARTH. The new podcast from playwright/actor Jessica Farr, and playwright/actor Caleb Scott is a whole series of “Florida Man” and “Florida Woman” stories.

An Evening with Debbie Harry – DEBBIE HARRY, musician, actor, and activist, is best known as the singer and front person of the punk/New Wave/pop band Blondie. After the group broke up in the early ‘80s, Harry embarked on a successful solo career, recording five solo albums. Meanwhile, Harry developed an acting career during which she amassed 30 film roles and several television appearances. In her memoir, Face It (Dey Street Books), she blends first-person essays, interviews conducted by journalist Sylvie Simmons, never-before-seen photographs, illustrations, and fan art installations to recount in intimate detail the downtown scene of 1970s New York City, a time and a place where Blondie played alongside the Ramones, Television, Talking Heads, Iggy Pop, and David Bowie and interacted with artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Dubbed Foreverglades, this remarkable photography exhibit focused on life in The Glades will be housed in a replica of a 1920’s steamboat docked in the Stub Canal Turning Basin in Howard Park, immersing visitors in the history of long-ago Florida. The exhibition is free and open to the public and runs from November 30 until the end of February 2020.
