Few organizations foster creativity in the next generation of artists and performers as YoungArts does, and we’re so proud that they’re doing so right in our own backyard. This year, The National YoungArts Foundation has announced a new venture in creative and professional development opportunities for its network of 20,000 alumni—exceptionally talented artists across the visual, literary and performing arts. More importantly, ways that you, the community, can support and interact with this outpour of talent yourselves: YoungArts at Ted’s.
YoungArts at Ted’s is a new performance series that offers the public the chance to experience exceptional programs in an intimate setting. While they’ve used the Ted’s space as a platform and venue for hosting talks and performances with some of the leading decision-makers and artists in many vocations, this year, they’re transforming it into a home for some of their brightest alumni to interact with the local community like never before. At YoungArts at Ted’s, alumni are invited to perform and talk, and showcase the very best of their abilities for a series of up-close-and-personal shows at an affordable price.
The series will kick off with an already SOLD OUT performance by powerhouse percussionist and composer Allison Miller (1992 YoungArts Winner in Jazz) and her acclaimed jazz band Boom Tic Boom on September 12, 2019.
On November 21, 2019, TONY Award-nominated Broadway star Tony Yazbeck (1997 YoungArts Winner in Theater) will perform classic show tunes, new standards and dazzling tap dancing.
Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Judith Hill (2002 YoungArts Winner in Voice) will perform on February 13, 2020 followed by critically acclaimed, rising star pianist and composer Conrad Tao (2011 Winner in Classical Music & U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), on May 7, 2020.
