Years ago this list would be a “last minute ideas” or simply a long brunch list. The hospitality in Miami is never-ending, but this year Mother’s Day in Miami is much more than just a one day event. This weekend will be the perfect instance to have some time with mom to celebrate. Miami is full of cultural happenings to take your mom, wife and kids, expecting moms, the person in your life you consider a mother figure or the whole family. In order to experience Miami with mom this weekend, choose from the cultural events happening all over town!
To show mom you care about her and shopping locally, follow Vicky Serra, the woman behind Alma Aromatherapy and visit the Aventura market on Saturday, May 11th from 10am-9pm. You will be able to purchase belly oil for moms-to-be and gift boxes with natural products from lavender room freshener to stress relief oils and bath bombs!

Instead of buying a bouquet for the mom in your life, acknowledge mom’s passion for gardening by attending Mama’s Market on Saturday, May 11th from 1-6pm at Mother Earth Miami, an urban farm realized by Gabi and Katia located at 115 NE 76th Street. There will be workshops where you and mom will learn about the nursery, make DIY souvenirs and go home with a lovely memory.

On Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 11am to 6pm, 19 art studio complexes, studio communities, and artist’s studios within close proximity will open their doors to the public. Artists Open, the first ever Miami-Dade County-wide open studios day, was initiated by Fountainhead and supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. This event will feature over 250 participating artists and will be a great activity to check out with mom all over Miami from Deering Estate, Doral Studios, Hialeah Arts District, Oolite Arts and more.

It’s also nice to give mom something to look forward to like tickets to Chelsea Handler’s Sit- Down Comedy Tour. She won’t want to miss the night when she finds out Chelsea will be joined on stage by Lilly Singh. Spend quality time with mom on Friday, May 17th at 8pm at The Fillmore Miami Beach and have an amazing time yourself.
*Every ticket comes with a copy of Chelsea Handler’s new book – Life Will Be the Death of Me. Books will be distributed at the venue day of show.
