Growing up and living in Miami, the beach, gardens, and small bits of natural life are a part of the community’s daily lives. However, living in a city such as this one comes with its challenges when it comes to the environment and its preservation of it. Throughout the city, trash is seen everywhere. Empty soda cups on the street, plastic lids, bottle caps and bits of it on beaches are seen just as much as plastic bags caught on bushes, tree branches and flying in the air even during traffic. You name any kind of garbage and you’ll most likely find yourself encountering it.
With climate change gaining an increasingly amount of attention throughout the last few years, incredible transitions have been made within the city along with laws, bills and other developments that are currently in the process as well. Creating awareness of the dangers of fast-moving temperature changes, animal struggles, and ecosystems dying is the goal in mind for those leading and fighting for the needed differences within the community and its accustomed careless lifestyle. Miami has certain areas where recycling and trash options are given all within one bin making it efficient to chuck out the item according to what you are throwing out. That’s just one of the many necessary additions Miami requires.

One of the most common, but never too routine-like activities, is a classic beach-cleanup!
