The buzz on Allapattah has been bubbling for a while now, and we’re excited to see some notable movement taking place. The Wynwood neighbor will soon be home to the new Rubell Family Collection and more new business over the next year. Leading the pack as charming as can be is the official home and cafe for local roasters: Deco Coffee Co.
A partnership between Relentless‘ Daniel Paguaga and Threefold Cafe‘s Nick Sharp, Deco Coffee Co. is the embodiment of “appreciating the craft.” With the roastery on-site, patrons will get to enjoy their coffee while watching the beans roasted in action for a full effect. The various roasts, beautifully marked by vintage travel posters, entice coffee lovers of all levels to get to know the art of a great cup of Joe. Each one more rooted in artisanal magic than the next. You can already enjoy Deco’s multiple roasts around town at beloved places like Brewing Buddha and of course Threefold, but the roastery and cafe is well worth the adventure.
Teal and copper blend together as light floods the Allapattah spot, inviting all in for a caffeine-fueled meal or workplace. It’s a perfect go-between for those of us coming from the south and heading to the denser neighborhoods in Miami’s northern core. While the place is an homage to coffee and Paguaga’s family farms in Nicaragua, the food should not go untasted. Or even the local beer on draft…but that’s just a bonus.
For those of us who have experienced the flavorful menu concocted at Threefold cafe, you shouldn’t expect anything less than delicious here. Toast options like cumin-carrot, herb-baba ganoush, and of course the famous Threefold Avo catch your eye. Breakfast classics are offered, next to breathtaking lamb and buffalo cauliflower burgers. And never, ever, skimp on the trademark fries, expertly seasoned with rosemary picked from the greenhouse out back. Enjoying a freshly roasted cup or not, everything about the place invites you to take it slow. Just the way we like it.
Deco Coffee Co.’s soft opening is this Saturday and Sunday from 8am – 5pm, offering discounts for friends and family. The soft opening will run through the week until their official grand opening on the 15th. Once open, you can expect things like latte art competitions, coffee trainings, and movies and sports streams. They’ll even launch a farmer’s market series in their spacious backyard lot. Whether it’s to enjoy one of their many locally-sourced options, or just popping in to say hello, Deco Coffee Co. has landed on the friendly energy we all need more of in this city. We’re happy to see it coming to life just in time.
